Lorenzo Garagnani is Consultant Hand and Wrist Surgeon (adult and paediatric) & Aesthetic Physician.
Lorenzo co-founded and has been the first Lead surgeon of the multidisciplinary (OrthoPlastic) Hand Unit at Guy's and St Thomas' hospitals in London. He is Honorary Reader (Associate Professor eq.) at the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine of King's College London (KCL) university. He is Medical Director of the SE1 Medical Aesthetics clinic in London.
Lorenzo is the President of the Italian Medical Society of Great Britain (IMSoGB), Director of the International Bone Research Association (IBRA)'s GSTT London Upper Limb Training Centre & Fellowship, and past-President and founding member of the Pediatric Hand International Society of Surgeons (PHISOS).
He serves on the Examination Committee of the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand (FESSH) and as examiner for the Diploma of the European Board of Hand Surgery (EBHS). He also sits on the International Traveling Fellows Committee of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH).
Lorenzo is Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) and Member of several scientific societies, including the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM), the British College of Aesthethic Medicine (BCAM) and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH).
He is author of numerous scientific publications (articles & book chapters) and regular faculty at international conferences and courses. He is also an experienced trainer, anatomist and teacher on advanced anatomy dissection courses.
Lorenzo is internationally recognised for his work and research on increased safety of hand and wrist treatments and has developed anatomically based injection techniques for hand rejuvenation.
He holds multiple postgraduate Specialist Qualifications and Diplomas (Trauma and Orthopaedics, Hand Surgery, Aesthetic & Wellness Medicine).
In 2020, Lorenzo was awarded the Knighthood of the Order of the Star of Italy (OSI) for his international achievements and career and for his volunteer work during the Covid19 pandemic.
